About the NAA

Who is a GWH Alumna or Alumnus?

Attendance, or employment for at least one year, is the only condition to be a Good Will-Hinckley (GWH) alumna or alumnus. Program attended is irrelevant.

Reunions

Kum Bak, the annual on-campus reunion, is held the first weekend of August.

Alumni Association

Alumni join the GWH Alumni Association upon an annual dues payment of $10. The Association usually holds an annual meeting during Kum Bak weekend. Its Board meets several times a year and awards $250 grants. These grants help fund projects or activities proposed by GWH youth. Alumni Association dues fund the awards

President's Letter
August 2009

 "HOME"

It is an honor and privilege to be elected as your next President of the GWH National Alumni Association. We have a long hard journey ahead of us in helping all we can to put Good Will-Hinckley back in the business of being a "Home and Helping Hand" to children in need. I, along with my Officers: First Vice-President, Bernadette Dutra, '00; Second Vice-President, Jennifer Parker '00; Secretary, Deanne Duff, '01; Treasurer, Pat Zlotin, '64; and At Large Members of Governing Board: Ryan Merrill, and Kirby McGraw, '94, are open to any suggestions that you may have.

For those of you I haven't met, let me introduce myself. I graduated from High School in 1962. Following that I attended Classical Business College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Business Management and a minor in psychology. I worked as the Director of Customer Service, then Manager of a Billing Department and then at Good Will-Hinckley. I excelled in Customer Relations and enjoy dealing with people from all walks of life. I think my work over the years has helped me become a good listener, which I now hope to apply as I listen to our Alumni and their questions or concerns.

I have been associated with Good Will-Hinckley for over 20 years. I worked in the Development Office as an Administrative Assistant, Alumni Liaison, Secretary to the CEO and other duties. One of my main tasks was communicating with Alumni and keeping them informed; a job I truly loved. I have seen the good times and the bad times here at Good Will, and assisted when needed. Now is the time to roll up our sleeves and try to help put things back as they were - but we do need money and support.

My mission is to build our Alumni database, work on getting dues to assist financially with Kum Bak 2010, plus working with the Board of Directors to find ways of funding for Good Will-Hinckley. This is just a beginning. We have many Alumni who want to be involved, and we invite them to join us and participate. We do promise to keep the lines open and will do the best that we can. Things may be slow at first, but hopefully good news is not too far away.

God Bless,
